Social Groups Within CHE

Suggested Age/Activity Guidelines:

While traditional school settings must organize students by grade level for classroom management, the homeschool community is in a unique position to offer socialization opportunities across grade and age level delineations.  We suggest these guidelines for choosing Mid-Missouri Co-Op of Home Educators (CHE) sponsored activities for your children:

Bright Beginners:  pre-school to age 6
Young Explorers:  Grade K - 10 years old
Pre-Teen:  9-12 years old
Teen:  13 years old and up

Many families in our group have children of various ages, grade levels, and stages of maturity, which means you may find yourself attending one or more of these groups. Our general guideline is that, if your child is younger than the groups' suggested age span, a parent
must stay with the child during the event.  For example, if you have a pre-teen and a young explorer and want to attend a pre-teen event as a family (assuming space permits it and you have the leader's permission), your child may attend only if you are staying to supervise the event.  For the events aimed at the younger population, we discourage "drop-offs" or children being left unsupervised by a parent.

CHE also requires that families abide by the CHE "Minimum Standards of Conduct" as printed in the bylaws.
